Information

With the Dufour 39, Dufour presents a new generation of cruising sailing yachts, designed to adapt to different sailing styles without compromising sailing sensations, onboard comfort, and ease of handling.

Designed for both short-handed sailing and more ambitious programs, the Dufour 39 introduces a more versatile approach to the 39-foot sailing yacht, where each configuration allows for an experience consistent with your own way of experiencing the sea.

Balance as a starting point.

Born from the collaboration between Umberto Felci and Luca Ardizio, the Dufour 39 expresses an elegant and contemporary silhouette. The sharp-chined hull, optimized to reduce wetted surface area, ensures smooth and controlled sailing. The single rudder provides a direct feel at the helm: precise and responsive.

Its generous beam from the bow opens up surprising interior volumes for a 39-foot vessel. Both inside and out, light flows freely. A large panel on the master cabin’s roof reinforces this constant connection with the sky and the horizon.
Always faithful to the Dufour spirit.
The structure, created using vacuum infusion for the hull and injection molding for the deck, guarantees rigidity over time. A balance designed to last.

Three ways to experience the sea.
The Dufour 39 is available in three distinct versions.
The minimalist version emphasizes the essentials: an open stern, fluid circulation, and direct contact with the water.
The comfort version enriches life on board with a Skylounge Cockpit, a central aft bench, foldaway helm seats, a large cockpit table, an integrated Seaside Kitchen, a removable swim platform, and a relaxation area in the bow.
The performance version is designed for those who appreciate precision and crewed sailing: six winches distributed per station, two-dimensional genoa adjustments, a large mainsail track, and a square-top mainsail.
Personalize the space. Extend the experience.

Available in two- or three-cabin versions, the Dufour 39 adapts its layouts to every sailing project. The convertible saloon and longitudinal galley create a convivial and functional space. The secondary spaces offer rare modularity: a storage compartment can be transformed into an office or an additional bathroom, while a technical unit can be converted into a separate shower cubicle.

This adaptability makes the Dufour 39 a scalable sailboat, designed to complement the lifestyle of every owner.

A unique design and inimitable spaces

Aboard the Dufour 39, the cockpit becomes the heart of life on board. From the dual helm stations, maneuvering is precise and intuitive. The space then simply invites you to linger: share a meal, read, or gaze out to sea. Circulation is fluid, spaces remain open, and separations dissolve. Sail, anchor, set sail. The exterior is not a diversion, but a lived-in space. Here, time finds a different rhythm: slower, more mindful. A sailboat designed to stay connected to the elements. To simply experience the sea.

The shipyard

The Yard

One of the major sailboat manufacturer worldwide

Established more than 50 years ago on the Atlantic Coast, Dufour plays an important role in the region and is one of the main employers in La Rochelle.

With a production capacity of more than 18.000 m² and 420 full-time employees, Dufour counts among the biggest shipyards in the world.

The Yard

History

In 1957, young engineer Michel Dufour discovered the new material, polyester. At the time, he was a keen competition sailor with a real passion for yachts, class rules and hydrodynamics. This sparked his idea to build a yacht made of polyester. In 1964, Michel Dufour started to design the "Sylphe" transportable yacht. He took a lot of financial risks to make the yacht, rented a hangar and started to make the "Sylphe" under the aegis of his newly formed company, Le Stratifié Industriel.

The Yard

Design

The famous Italian naval architect Umberto Felci and the designers of Dufour Yachts work in very close cooperation to get hulls of the very best quality. The worldwide reputation of our yachts does not need to be reminded.

The Yard

Production

100% made in France, all Dufour Yachts models are thinked, designed and produced in La Rochelle, in the company headquarters. With near 400 sailboats built by year, Dufour Yachts controls the whole supply chain, from the project development to expedition, passing from the mounting and wood work.
